Alvarion is leading the broadband wireless market to the widespread adoption of standards-based, fixed and mobile solutions. With over 10 years of standards leadership and the industry’s most extensive product portfolio covering the full range of frequency bands, the company provides solutions primarily for last mile access. Recently, the company announced significant accomplishments in the development of its WiMAX systems. Leveraging the agreement with Intel forged back in July 2003, Alvarion was the first to demonstrate a WiMAX CPE using the Intel® PRO/Wireless 5116 broadband interface, Intel’s WiMAX chip. Later named the BreezeMAX PRO, this CPE was launched for commercial use in September 2005
and to date, Alvarion has sold over 20,000 units. In addition, Alvarion extended its WiMAX frequency coverage for the U.S. market with announcements for systems in the 2.3 GHz WCS and 2.5 GHz BRS bands. Finally, Alvarion introduced the BreezeMAX Si, its selfinstall WiMAX CPE, with a demonstration at WCA in Washington, D.C. in June 2005. BreezeMAX now boasts over 150 deployments in over 30 countries around the world.

As an active member of the GSM Association, Alvarion also offers compact, cost-effective cellular networks that deliver mobile voice and data services to the most challenging environments worldwide. Using both GSM and CDMA compact systems for specialized cellular networks, Alvarion brings communications to all corners of the world to “reach the unreachable.”
