Regents Place - Sydney
REGENTS PLACE

Regent Place was built in two stages, with Stage 1 completed in August 2006 and Stage 2 to be completed in May 2008.

Stage 1 of the project involved the construction of Tower B, the eastern side of the Podium and eight basement levels of carparking. The 30-level Tower B comprises luxury serviced apartments over a Podium that includes four levels of mixed retail and commercial space in addition to recreational facilities incorporating pool, gym and sauna.

Stage 2 includes Tower A comprising 42 levels of luxury studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments together with multi million dollar three-level penthouses, and will complete the western side of the Podium incorporating five levels of mixed retail, commercial and recreational space.

This ultra high-quality residential development designed by renowned UK architect, Norman Foster, is located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. The post tensioned concrete frame building, incorporates curtain wall facades on all sides with high performance glass providing protection from the sun. Sandstone portals on George and Bathurst Street provide fitting and elegant entries. A feature of the four-level entrance foyer is its glass ceiling, in reality, the glazed floor of a suspended 50m swimming pool on level five of the Podium.

Telstra's Advanced Services group was engaged to design the In Building Mobile Coverage solution for both towers. The implementation of the system was completed by the onsite electrical services contractor, Star Electrical. Once the system was completed, Telstra engaged Enersus to conduct a CW (Carrier Wave) Measurement of the entire site. This was completed to verify that the both towers could be adequatly supported using only one mobile's base station, located on Level 8. The measurements took place over a full week, involving a considerable amount of walktesting using specialist software developed by Enersus, to measure three simultaneous signals (900MHz, 1800MHz, 2100MHz). The software was developed by Enersus to specifically provide CW Measurement services.

Once the measurement software was set up, the CW Transmitters had to be configured and connected into the completed (IBC) In Building Mobile Coverage solution. Once again, the CW Transmitter units were developed by Enersus to specifically provide CW Measurement services.

The data was collected, compiled and then submitted as an 84 page report to Telstra for review.
